The first meeting of NADJ London went successfully and the branch is now in the process of being officially formed. This should be finalised in the next few weeks. The proposed Committee is made up from the five founding members of the branch: - Tony Winyard - Branch Chairman
- Fabio Capozzi - Branch Secretary
- Ed Brereton - Branch Treasurer
- Matt Haydn-Baker - Vice-Chairman
The 5 founding members of the branch are the aforementioned plus Steve Honeyball. The next meeting will be on the 30th April 2012 at the Elixir Bar in Euston. This is just a 5 minute walk from Euston station and less than 10 minutes from 3 other stations (Kings Cross, Mornington Crescent and Camden Town). There is also plenty of free parking around this venue and reasonable prices for both food and drink. Agenda - Paul "Tech" Bouzan (former writer of Tech's Corner in Pro Mobile magazine) will give help on technical issues with sound & lighting

- Gary Job from Denon DJ will be giving a hands-on look at the Denon SC3900 CDJ
- The supporting retailer will be West-End DJ
Doors will open from 6pm for open networking with presentations starting from 7pm onwards. The meeting is free for NADJ members and for non-members, your first 3 meetings @ NADJ London are free. Future meetings will be on the last Monday of every other month, with the next one being the 25th June 2012. So come down and chat with some other London DJs, make new contacts, improve your network, learn new skills and have some fun while you're doing it. Tony Winyard: "At long last the date and venue for the initial meeting have been finalised. It will be on Monday 27th February at Dukes Meadows Golf Club in Chiswick, West London (www.dukesmeadows.com). The meeting takes place from 7.30pm to 10.30pm. The venue has a huge free car park, serves excellent food and has a bar. It also has a big stage and can hold around 200 people standing so space will not be an issue. More information to follow on the speakers and agenda for the night." Tony also wants the help of DJs in the London area to spread the word and distribute some leaflets. NADJ members in the London area have picked up the gauntlet and have announced that they would like to start up a branch in the capital city. Many DJs have requested this, but it's always proved difficult getting the members to take on the responsibility of building an NADJ branch from the ground up. NADJ member, Tony Winyard, has created a Facebook page and he has started promoting the branch. He has the full backing and support of the NADJ and our team are working with Tony other members in the London area to get the ball rolling. Tony commented on their new Facebook page: "Our aim is to see a good number of DJs in the London area joining and us helping them to raise their game in terms of professionalism, skills, business practices, and increasing their income, regardless of their age or experience. Another aim is to encourage some young DJs and help them start up by getting into the right habits from early on." |
