I trust that you will all find some time for peace and rest over the busy festive period and having put away those Christmas hits for another 11 months, you will then be looking forward to 2012." Mark Weller NADJ Wales Branch Secretary New Years Eve Availability The focus now seems to be who is free on New Year’s Eve. So don't forget to update your availability because if you are free, someone out there may be desperate for your services! If you've not already contacted me to add your availability, please do so as soon as possible, time is very limited. New Year Social Event (Sunday 5th February 2012) We have some exciting plans in place for the New Year! The NADJ Wales Party will be held at The Holiday Inn at The Coldra, Newport, NP18 2YG. DJs and their partners going to join us from all over the country. We will have the full NADJ National Committee at this event because there will be a National Executive Committee meeting the following day at The Holiday Inn. Here is the provisional itinerary: - Dr Helen Lee's Viral Networking Surgery (4.00pm to 7.00pm): A one to one consultation with Helen Lee from Mastermix. This exclusive session has been setup for you to discuss any personal problems you may have with internet promotion, viral marketing and viral networking. This will be strictly by appointment only, as with all good surgeries!
- Mastermix Brainstorming Session (6.00pm to 7.30pm): A workshop to discuss what DJs want in the way of megamixes, extended mixes, mash-ups and DJ compilations with Richard Lee, the Mastermix/Music Factory Label Manager.
- Hot Buffet Dinner (8.30pm): The meal will include Chicken Curry, Beef Bourguignon, Vegetarian Lasagne, Rice, Chips and Garlic Bread at £15.00 per person.
- Musical Mayhem with Richard Lee and Paul Arnett (9.30pm to Midnight): Interactive fun and games for all. This will be all about participating and having fun!
- Late Night Stories and Anecdotes (in the bar from Midnight).
Special rates on accommodation are available via Paul Thompson, but that's just a sample of the event. Further details of the arrangements will be released in due course. First Meeting of 2012 (Tuesday 10th January 2012) Welcoming in the New Year with our first meeting of 2012! The branch meeting will be held in the Board Room (by the main entrance) at The University of Wales Caerleon Campus, NP18 3QT. Expect the usual balance of educational content, networking, toys, gear and banter. There will no doubt be a few tales of woe after Christmas! How was it for you? Urgent message from Mark Weller: "Tomorrow's scheduled meeting (Tuesday 29th November) was to be held at the premises of Zelma Sound & Lighting. However, our arrangements have had to be changed at very short notice due to the unexpected and serious illness of a close, young family member of our host Alan Thomas. I know that many of you were looking forward to the opportunity to visit Alan and look at all the latest bits of kit and in many cases make purchases, however this ‘Rain Check’ is unavoidable under the circumstances. I feel sure many of you will be now be visiting Alan over the next few weeks. We wish Alan and his family all the best in this difficult time for them."

NADJ South Wales Branch Meeting- Tuesday 11th October 2011 @ University Of Wales Newport, Caerleon, NP18 3QT (7.30pm for 8.00pm prompt start)
The NADJ Wales October meeting is going to be crammed with beneficial content. The action packed meeting is this coming Tuesday (11th October 2011) at our regular meeting place at the Uni. It's a supper meeting again so don't bother with a roadside snack on route! This month’s meeting includes: Educational Presentation - We are most fortunate to have a motivational guest speaker in the larger than life shape of Dave Reed from RSD Music. Some would say he's controversial, but he's certainly in demand after his "who wants to be a millionaire" seminars at BPM. Dave 'Millionaire DJ' Reed is now famed across our industry for these entertaining seminars and for his Pro Mobile articles aimed at raising the bar for professional DJs by encouraging them to increasing their fees and consequential earnings. His passion and enthusiasm for this aim has taken him on a UK wide tour of DJ events and NADJ branches. However, in Wales, he is sure to be at home, as he's back in his homeland from his exile in the Thames Valley. Dave's presentation is sure to be enlightening and thought provoking.

The next NADJ Wales Branch Meeting takes place on Tuesday 13th September 2011 at The University Of Wales, Newport, Caerleon, NP18 3QT (7.30pm for 8.00pm prompt start). After the highly successful August BBQ we are back to our more usual meeting format this month, although it has a spicy twist... it's a supper meeting with a pucker 'Gurkha Curry' being served. It is being prepared by Gurkha Chefs in the kitchens of The Infantry Battle School Wales, Dering Lines Camp, Brecon - this is the home of Gurkha Company Mandalay (The Gurkha Rifles). So, Make sure you bring your appetite with you! Your Branch Committee has been busy planning a content packed evening for our September meeting, and although not all our plans will be in place for this meeting, some have been postponed for Octobers Wales event. However, this month’s get together includes-

The Wales Branch of the NADJ holds their annual Summer BBQ at 7pm on Tuesday 9th August 2011 at the Lakeside Caravan Park Club House, Llangors, Brecon, Powys, LD3 7TR. The BBQ is always well attended by our members and their families. It combines combined good food, fun, games, activities for the children (and big kids) and great company.
